The graveyard of personal literary ambition.

Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
ANGST IN SPACE, people. ANGST IN SPACE.
It’s like Judy Blume took a handful of shrooms one day, and said:
“Fuck it. The next book? It’s gonna be about young girls struggling with self-image and relationships on the goddamn moon.”
Paula Danziger never lets you down. Except when, in “There’s a Bat In Bunk Five,” the rad heroine (formerly of “The Cat Ate My Gymsuit,” which taught Lazy EVERYTHING SHE NEEDED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PATRIARCHY), loses about eighty pounds and acquires a cute boyfriend.
Weak, Paula. Weak. Not to mention, it’s described as “so she stopped eating ice cream after dinner, and now she wears a size small.”
‘Cause that’s how that happens, you know.
By the way, if you’re keeping a running tally of What The Lazy Reviewer Thinks Is Real And Not Real:
Real: The Patriarchy, ghosts, ESP, great cats of Britain, the Loch Ness Monster, aliens of both the grey and little green variety, and that book about your horse’s astrological sign.
Not Real: God, Manic Pixie Dream Girls, angels, astrology books about humans, low-fat mayonnaise.
